About Course
Course Description
This C1-level course consists of 80 academic hours, divided into 24 thematic lessons and 8 revision units. The aim of the course is to guide students toward advanced mastery of the Albanian language, enabling them to speak fluently, accurately, and appropriately in complex academic, social, and cultural contexts.
Reading & Comprehension – through authentic, analytical, and historical texts
Speaking – focused on debate, structured argumentation, and quick response in conversation
Writing – through advanced essays, formal texts, and creative expression
Grammar Knowledge – with advanced structures, compound forms, and idiomatic expressions
Duration: 80 academic hours
Format: Online or in-person in Berlin
Group size: 4–6 participants for a personalized and interactive learning experience

Course Curriculum
Lesson 1 – Albanian Among Other Languages
Discussion on the Indo-European roots of Albanian and the importance of learning foreign languages. Focus on proverbs and descriptive texts.
Lesson 2 – Why Visit Albania
Tourism, culture, and natural beauty in Albania. Use of pronouns and travel-related narratives.
Lesson 3 – The Human Body and Character
Describing physical appearance and personality traits, historical figures, and personal essays. Compound words.
Revision Unit 1
Lesson 4 – Media
Analysis of print and digital media. Essay on the impact of media. Use of the future-in-the-past tense.
Lesson 5 – How to Write a Request, a Letter, a Message...
Formal and informal correspondence, stylistic differences. Recommendation letters and professional emails.
Lesson 6 – Work and Career
Job applications, interviews, and describing professions. Prepositional phrases.
Revision Unit 2
Lesson 7 – Tourism and Orientation
Cultural heritage, travel for different age groups. Essays and advice for tourists. Word components.
Lesson 8 – Shopping and Entertainment
Online shopping, past and present entertainment. Comparative essays. Prefixes.
Lesson 9 – History, Biography, and Prophecy
Biographical and historical narratives. Writing biographies. Suffixes.
Revision Unit 3
Lesson 10 – Home, Furniture, Neighborhood
Excerpt from Ismail Kadare, describing spaces and interpreting art. Words with both prefixes and suffixes.
Lesson 11 – Money and Banking
Banking, cards, and financial expressions. Essay on personal financial habits. Nominalization of possessive pronouns.
Lesson 12 – Social and Environmental Issues
Topics such as pollution, domestic violence, and privacy. Argumentative essays and advanced paragraph structure.
Revision Unit 4
Lesson 13 – Technology and Its Use
The digital age, impact of smart devices. Instructional writing. Focus on main ideas.
Lesson 14 – Mysteries and Superstitions
Urban legends, prejudices, and magic. Story writing and the use of homonyms.
Lesson 15 – Advertising and Success
Advertising and self-presentation. Essay on reality vs. perception. Idiomatic expressions.
Revision Unit 5
Lesson 16 – Expressing Opinions
Touching stories, children’s rights, and poverty. Writing opinions and discussing sensitive issues.
Lesson 17 – Family
The role of the family, education dilemmas, and parenting advice. Figurative language.
Lesson 18 – Food and Beverages
Albanian cuisine and comparisons with international dishes. Recipes and food-related vocabulary.
Revision Unit 6
Lesson 19 – Friendship
Reflections on friendship and social relationships. Personal letters. Adjective gradation.
Lesson 20 – Sports
Sports reporting, stress, and ethical questions. Spelling and compound prepositions.
Lesson 21 – Endangered Species
Animal protection and ecological awareness. Official requests and topic-specific terminology.
Revision Unit 7
Lesson 22 – Elements of Our Cultural Heritage
Classic works, copyright laws, and piracy. Writing laws and cultural commentary.
Lesson 23 – Books
Traditional and digital reading, literary aesthetics, and disinformation. Nominalization and the use of the genitive case.
Lesson 24 – Religious Coexistence
Texts by Pope Francis and Kadare. Essays and discussions on tolerance and religious harmony.
